It has been a historic fall at Mississippi State University as we’ve set new records from academics to athletics. Earlier this month, we announced a new all-time record high enrollment with 23,150 students, surpassing 2021’s record of 23,086 and nearly 500 more students compared to last fall. We are the only public university in Mississippi to grow for nine of the last 10 years.

Fall is a special time of year at Mississippi State, and the entire university is busy with activity from academics to athletics. The Department of Aerospace Engineering celebrated its 90th anniversary this month, and it is remarkable to think about the growth and incredible success it’s seen since its start in 1934.

As we near the end of another successful spring semester, we have arrived at one of the most special and joyous times of the academic year at Mississippi State University. I was thrilled to start commencement season this past Saturday [May 4] at Nusz Park, where we recognized our softball student-athletes who are graduating.
