From my vantage point as the 2023 Commencement speaker, it was an unforgettable experience looking out into a sea of 4,100 graduates in their mortarboards, surrounded by the beaming pride of their families and loved ones in Davis Wade Stadium.

You can feel it in the air and see it all around—the anticipation and excitement that spring always brings to the Mississippi State campus. As students wrap up the semester with final exams and other activities, we’re preparing for the grand finale on May 12, when graduates will be honored in Davis Wade Stadium.

Our prayers continue for those impacted by the recent storms that hit our state. MSU teams are working with Mississippi Emergency Management Agency officials to assess needs and deploy MSU resources and personnel to support those in need.
