A cowbell was presented in late June by MSU President Mark E. Keenum, right, to Wallace Colvard in honor of his late father, Dean W. Colvard, the university’s 12th president. President Colvard’s lasting impact on MSU includes expanding the university’s research impact, establishing the University Honors Program, helping to create the MSU Development Foundation, and his quiet courage during the “Game of Change” controversy in the early 1960s.
