MSU Libraries Gain ARL Status

Three people pose beside large illuminated marquee letters spelling “ARL,” with gold, maroon, and white balloon decorations, at what appears to be a library celebration event.

MSU Provost and Executive Vice President David Shaw, left, President Mark E. Keenum, and Dean of Libraries Lis Pankl celebrated the university’s election to membership in the prestigious Association of Research Libraries at a June reception. MSU is currently the only Mississippi university holding ARL membership, joining an elite group of some 125 research university libraries with the status in the U.S. and Canada.
