Noted Civil War experts Judith Giesberg, left, and Brandi C. Brimmer were on campus at the beginning of October to lead a discussion at the eighth annual Frank and Virginia Williams Lecture Series on Abraham Lincoln and Civil War Studies. Their talk on the 16th president and the amendment abolishing slavery was made possible by MSU benefactors Frank Williams, third from left, and his wife Virginia, who created the annual lecture series.
