The Executive Council held its monthly meeting in Lee Hall at 1:30 p.m. Present were Dr. Mark Keenum, presiding, Dr. Tracey Baham, Dr. Jason Barrett, Dr. Keith Coble, Ms. Leslie Corey, Ms. Ra’Sheda Forbes, Dr. Regina Hyatt, Ms. Christine Jackson, Mr. Brandon Jolly, Ms. Heather Kennedy, Mr. John Rush, Dr. David Shaw, Ms. Anna Sparks, Mr. Don Zant, and Mr. Jim Laird.

In accordance with OP 41.02: Naming Opportunities, Mr. Rush proposed changing the name of Bulldog Way to Wingo Way in honor of Turner Wingo, Dean Wingo, and their families and naming the new connector road, located between Bulldog Way (Wingo Way) and Herbert Street, Moseley Road in honor of Dr. and Mrs. Niles R. Moseley. Council members voted to approve these naming opportunities for the generous support the Wingos and the Moseleys have provided the university.

Dr. Hyatt presented OP 01.04: Emergency Operations. This regular review does not include any changes. Council members voted to approve the policy.

Dr. Baham presented the annual review of the university’s mission statement in accordance with OP 01.05: Mission Statement Review and Mississippi Board of Trustees of State Institutions of Higher Learning policy. Council members voted to approve the policy and the mission statement.
