The Executive Council held its monthly meeting in Lee Hall at 1:30 p.m. Present were Dr. Mark E. Keenum, presiding, Dr. Tracey Baham, Dr. Keith Coble, Ms. Leslie Corey, Ms. Lesia Ervin, Ms. Christine Jackson, Mr. Brandon Jolly, Dr. Julie Jordan, Dr. Dominique Quarles, Dr. Rebecca Robichaux-Davis, Mr. John Rush, Dr. David Shaw, Ms. Anna Sparks, Mr. Don Zant and Mr. Jim Laird.

Dr. Regina Hyatt and Mr. Garrett Smith were unable to attend the meeting in person. However, they voted in favor of all of the policy updates on the agenda via email.

Mr. Jolly presented:

-- OP 01.14. Political Activities. The update for this policy consists of a relatively few, minor changes to add further clarity to the policy. Council members voted to approve the update.

Dr. Shaw presented:

-  HRM 60.118: Drug and Alcohol-free Workplace, HRM 60.119: Drug-Free Workplace, and HRM 60.121: Controlled Substances and Alcohol Use Testing of Employees with a Commercial Drivers’ License. The updates for these policies are comprised of changes that enhance clarity and align the policies with current state and federal laws, regulations, and guidelines. Council members voted to approve these updates.

Additionally, Dr. Baham shared HRM 60.120: Drug-Free Campus via email as an information item. Since there are no changes needed after its latest review, no formal action was required of Executive Council.
