The Executive Council held its monthly meeting in Lee Hall and via Webex at 9:30 a.m. In-person and online attendees were Dr. David Shaw, presiding, Dr. Tracey Baham, Dr. Keith Coble, Mr. John Cohen, Ms. Leslie Corey, Ms. Lesia Ervin, Ms. Ra’Sheda Forbes, Mr. Brett Harvey, Dr. Julie Jordan, Ms. Joan Lucas, Dr. Rebecca Robichaux-Davis, Mr. John Rush, Ms. Anna Sparks, Mr. Don Zant and Mr. Jim Laird.

On behalf of Provost and Executive Vice President David Shaw, Dr. Tracey Baham presented AOP 13.09 Credentials for Teaching and Program Coordination. This update better aligns the policy with the needs of students and with accreditation requirements, and will allow MSU to offer new and innovative programs moving forward. Council members voted to approve.

On behalf of Dr. Shaw, Mr. Brett Harvey presented OP 3.03 Discrimination, Harassment and Retaliation. This update aligns the definitions and terminology of OP 3.03 with the revision of OP 3.04: Sexual Misconduct, which was approved at the August 12, 2020, meeting. The update also more clearly explains the process for Title IX cases and clarifies information about accommodations for non-English speakers and the religious beliefs of students and employees. Council members voted to approve.
