Meeting #479 - January 25, 2021
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the Executive Council held its monthly meeting and first meeting of the new year via Webex at 1:30 p.m. Present were Dr. Mark E. Keenum, presiding, Dr. Tracey Baham, Ms. Lesia Ervin, Ms. Ra’Sheda Forbes, Dr. Regina Hyatt, Ms. Christine Jackson, Mr. Chris Jenkins, Dr. Julie Jordan, Ms. Joan Lucas, Dr. Reuben Moore, Mr. Tyler Packer, Mr. Steve Parrott, Dr. Rebecca Robichaux-Davis, Mr. John Rush, Dr. David Shaw, Ms. Kacey Strickland, and Mr. Jim Laird.
Dr. Jordan presented an update of OP 70.04: Export Control. The proposed changes streamline the policy, enhance specificity, and improve organization. There are no substantive changes. Council members voted to approve.
Dr. Shaw presented five AOPs for review and approval as a group, beginning with an update of AOP 10.14: The Adoption of Sale of Textbooks and Other Instructional Materials. The central change proposed in the update adds clarity to the policy’s conflict of interest provision.
Dr. Shaw then presented an update of AOP 12.01: Academic Add-Drop Policy, AOP 12.17: Undergraduate Academic Fresh-Start, AOP 12:22: Undergraduate Student Course Load, and AOP 13.03: Responsibilities in Instruction and Curriculum. None of the proposed changes to these policies are substantive.
Council members voted to approve all five of the AOP updates.
