Executive Council met at 1:30 p.m. at Lee Hall. Present were Dr. Mark E. Keenum, presiding, Dr. Greg Bohach, Dr. Judy Bonner, Ms. Ann Carr, Dr. Timothy Chamblee, Ms. Mayah Emerson, Ms. Lesia Ervin, Dr. Teresa Gammill, Mr. Brandon Jolly, Mr. Steve Parrott, Ms. Judy Spencer, Mr. Jason Townsend, Ms. Amy Tuck, Mr. Don Zant, and Mr. Jim Laird.

Dr. Bonner presented an update of AOP 11.06, Study Abroad and Other International Travel by Students. The update clarifies the policy to include explicitly “other international travel” by students in addition to study abroad. The Council recommended approval.

Dr. Bonner presented an update of AOP 12.32, Refund and Course Credit for Student Members of the Military Called to Active Duty or Deployed. The updated policy now states that “any student who cannot complete a semester due to being called to active duty from the Reserves or National Guard or an Active Duty student deployed under emergency conditions should present a copy of their military orders to the Center for America’s Veterans.” The Council recommended approval.

Dr. Bonner presented an update of AOP 12.36, Repeating a Course. This update includes several clarifications, including that the last grade received in a repeated course is the grade applied toward graduation and “recognition of undergraduate academic achievement... even if it is lower than a previous grade.” The Council recommended approval.

Dr. Bonner presented an update of AOP 31.10, Schedule Planning and Registration. The revision clarifies the process for schedule planning and registration, including the responsibilities of students and the role of advisors. The Council recommended approval.
