Executive Council met at 1:30 p.m. at Lee Hall. Present were Dr. Judy Bonner, presiding, Dr. Jeremy Baham, Dr. Greg Bohach, Ms. Susan Brooks, Ms. Ann Carr, Dr. Timothy Chamblee, Dr. Cody Coyne, Ms. Lesia Ervin, Ms. Cathy Lammons, Ms. Joan Lucas, Mr. Steve Parrott, Mr. Mike Rackley, Ms. Judy Spencer, Ms. Amy Tuck, Mr. Don Zant and Mr. Jim Laird.

Dr. Bonner presented a rescission of AOP 10.07, U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs: Students. This policy is no longer relevant because all students have the same academic regulations. The Council recommended approval.

Dr. Bonner presented a revision to AOP 13.01, Emeritus/a Appointments. This policy provides an orderly process for emeritus/a appointments as authorized by the Board of Trustees of State Institutions of Higher Learning (IHL). This revision clarifies the honorary status of emeritus/a titles and the process by which they may be revoked by the University. The revision was tabled for further discussion.

Dr. Bonner presented a revision to AOP 12.16, Academic Suspension and Dismissal. This policy establishes conditions for interrupting the pattern of unsatisfactory academic performance in undergraduate students who incur grade point deficiencies, thereby increasing the likelihood of their eventual academic success. This revision strengthens the policy’s intent through earlier intervention when minimum GPA thresholds are not met. The Council recommended approval.

Dr. Baham presented a revision to OP 91.113, Administrative Withdrawal and Readmission. This policy governs voluntary and involuntary withdrawal of students from the University in extraordinary circumstances where such withdrawal is considered necessary to prevent harm to the University community. This revision expands and more clearly defines the process. The Council recommended approval.
