Executive Council met at 1:30 p.m. at Lee Hall. Present were Dr. Mark Keenum, presiding, Dr. Timothy Chamblee, Mr. David Easley, Dr. Brent Fountain, Ms. Kathy Gelston, Dr. Bill Herndon, Dr. Julia Hodges, Dr. Regina Hyatt, Ms. Joan Lucas, Mr. Mike Rackley, Ms. Jordan Ramsey, Ms. Roxanne Raven, Ms. Judy Spencer, Ms. Amy Tuck, Mr. Scott Wetherbee, Mr. Don Zant, and Mr. Jim Laird.

Dr. Hodges presented a revision of AOP 12.09, Class Attendance & Reporting Absences. This policy establishes responsibilities and expectations related to student class attendance at MSU. The changes to the policy are not substantive. The Council recommended approval.

Dr. Hyatt presented a revision of OP 91.120, Possession of Firearms, Explosives, or Other Devices, Substances or Weapons. This policy provides regulations and guidelines for the safety and welfare of members and guests of the university community in compliance with applicable university regulations, Institutions of Higher Learning policies, and state law. The Council recommended approval.

Ms. Tuck presented a revision of OP 95.500, Faculty/Staff Temporary Housing. This policy regulates university housing units available for rent to regular full-time faculty and staff on a temporary basis. The revision extends the maximum length of rental to no more than 18 months. The Council recommended approval.
