Executive Council met at 1:30 p.m. at Lee Hall. Present were Dr. Mark Keenum, presiding, Dr. Julia Hodges, Dr. Bill Herndon, Dr. Thomas Bourgeois, Dr. David Shaw, Mr. Mike Rackley, Ms. Tamara Gibson, Mr. Joe Farris, Ms. AudreyAnne Estes, Mr. John Rush, Mr. Don Zant, Ms. Joan Lucas, Dr. Cody Coyne, Mr. Bo Hemphill, Ms. Lesia Ervin, Mr. Cedric Gathings, Ms. Judy Spencer, Ms. Amy Tuck, and Mr. Jim Laird.

Dr. Shaw presented a revised version of OP 79.11, Unmanned Aircraft Systems/Model Aircraft. The revised policy reflects current Federal Aviation Administration regulations and guidance on the use of unmanned aircraft systems and describes procedures for acquisition of university-owned UAS and operation of both university and other UAS and model aircraft. Model aircraft as defined by the policy and used purely for recreational purposes may be operated over open, non-populated university property provided other requirements of the policy are met. The Council recommended approval.

Dr. Herndon presented for approval proposed Procedures and Criteria for Selection of the Division of Agriculture, Forestry and Veterinary Medicine Stellar Staff Awards. One professional staff member and one support staff member will be recognized annually with a $250 award, plus funding of up to $1,500 for professional development. The Council recommended approval.
