Executive Council met at 1:30 p.m. at 611 Allen Hall. Present were Dr. Mark Keenum, presiding, Dr. Jerry Gilbert, Dr. Bill Herndon, Mr. Bill Broyles, Dr. David Shaw, Mr. Don Zant, Ms. Amy Tuck, Mr. Duncan McKenzie, Dr. Meghan Millea, Mr. John Rush, Mr. Mike Rackley, Dr. Cade Smith, Mr. Michael Hogan, Mr. Mike Rackley, Mr. Brandon Jolly, Mr. Joe Farris, Ms. Natalie Ray, and Ms. Shameie Haynes.

Dr. Gilbert presented for approval the revised Promotion and Tenure Procedures section of the Faculty Handbook. The revisions were the result of a two-year review and were recommended by the Faculty Senate. The Council recommended approval.

Dr. Keenum announced that the university would be closed on Friday, July 5, when no classes are in session, to realize an energy saving opportunity and in conjunction with the Governor?s proclamation authorizing state offices to close that day.
