Executive Council met at 1:30 p.m. at 611 Allen Hall. Present were Dr. Mark Keenum, presiding, Dr. Jerry Gilbert, Dr. Greg Bohach, Dr. David Shaw, Mr. Don Zant, Mr. Bill Broyles, Ms. Amy Tuck, Dr. Meghan Millea, Ms. Amanda Bell, Dr. Tommy Stevenson, Ms. Shelby Balius, Ms. Ann Carr, Ms. Lesia Bryant, Mr. Joe Farris, Mr. Brandon Jolly, and Ms. Jordan Ramsey.

Dr. Gilbert presented a proposal to name an animal research building at the Wise Center as the J. Gregg Boring Biomedical Research Building. The 1988 building was constructed to accommodate research led by Dr. Boring, who served on the faculty of the College of Veterinary Medicine from 1978 to 2010. The Council recommended approval. The naming proposal will be forwarded to the Board of Trustees for approval.

Dr. Shaw presented a proposal to name a section of street connecting the A. B. McKay Food Research and Enology Laboratory and Technology Boulevard as Joe Badley Drive. The original Joe Badley Drive was eliminated in conjunction with the construction of new streets in the Cochran Research, Technology and Economic Development Park. The Council recommended approval.

Mr. Broyles recommended for approval a revised version of Operating Policy 91.100, Code of Student Conduct. The revision reflects current legal language and definitions in wide use in higher education and conforms to federal and IHL standards. The Council recommended approval.

Mr. Broyles presented for approval official cost of attendance (COA) estimated budgets for 2012-13. The official COA estimate is a factor in determining the amount of financial aid awards. The proposed COA for 2012-13 for a full-time undergraduate Mississippi resident living on campus is $20,902 per year, which includes tuition and fees, books and supplies, room and board, and personal and transportation expenses. Corresponding COA estimates were presented for part-time students, out-of-state students, and graduate students, and for full-time and part-time students at the Meridian Campus. The Council recommended approval.
