Executive Council met at 1:30 p.m. at 611 Allen Hall. Present were Dr. Mark Keenum, presiding, Dr. Jerry Gilbert, Dr. Greg Bohach, Dr. Ray Vaughn, Mr. John Rush, Dr. Bill Kibler, Dr. Hart Bailey, Ms. Mary Vaughn, Mr. Rhett Hobart, Ms. Ann Carr, Ms. Lesia Bryant, and Mr. Joe Farris.

Dr. Gilbert proposed that Academic Operating Policy 12.07, Honor Code, be rescinded pending development of a replacement policy. A proposed revision of the policy is currently under review in the Faculty Senate. The council recommended approval. Dr. Keenum urged that everyone work together to adopt a revised policy during fall 2011. In the meantime, the Honor Code Council Office will continue to operate in keeping with current procedures.

Dr. Kibler presented for approval a revised version of Operating Policy 91.307, Traffic Rules and Regulations. The revised policy provides for one free visitor parking pass per year, with subsequent passes to cost $2; establishes a parking citation appeal process for visitors; and establishes motorcycle-only parking areas. The council recommended approval. The 2011-12 traffic rules and regulations and associated fees and fines were subsequently approved by the president and by the Commissioner of Higher Education, in keeping with Board of Trustees policy, and are on line at http://www.msstate.edu/dept/audit/91307.html.
