Executive Council met at 1:30 p.m. at 611 Allen Hall. Present were Dr. Mark Keenum, presiding, Dr. Jerry Gilbert, Dr. Greg Bohach, Dr. David Shaw, Mr. John Rush, Dr. Bill Kibler, Dr. Megan Millea, Dr. Tommy Stevenson, Ms. Mary Vaughn, Mr. Don Zant, Mr. Rhett Hobart, Mr. Duncan McKenzie, Ms. Lesia Bryant, Mr. Joe Farris, Mr. Brandon Jolly, and Ms. Judy Spencer.

Dr. Gilbert and Ms. Spencer presented for approval OP 60-227, Policy on Break Time for Nursing Mothers. The policy provides that, in compliance with the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA)in effect since 2010, Mississippi State provides reasonable break time for faculty and staff employees to express breast milk and provides appropriate locations to express breast milk. Mr. Rush presented for approval a revision of OP 41.01, Coordination of Solicitations for Private Donations. The revised policy provides that a proposal to be submitted to prospective donors for more than $1.5 million requires approval of the president. A proposal to name a college within the university also requires approval of the provost. The council recommended approval.
