Executive Council met at 11 a.m. in 611 Allen Hall.

Present were Dr. Peter Rabideau, presiding, Dr. Bob Wolverton, Dr. Melissa Mixon, Jeremy Johnson, Larry Templeton, Joy Odom, Mike McGrevey, Dr. Bill Kibler, John Rush, Dr. Kirk Schulz, Don Zant, Joe Farris, Ann Bell, Dr. Mary Alexander, Charles Guest, Dr. Jerry Gilbert, and Sue Johnston.

Dr. Gilbert presented for approval a revised version of Academic Operating Policy 31.02, Legal Resident Status. The revised policy reflects IHL policy. The council recommended approval, with Mr. Templeton dissenting.

Dr. Mixon presented for approval a revised version of Operating Policy 56.02, Division of Agriculture, Forestry and Veterinary Medicine Outside Employment Policy and Approval Process. The revised policy incorporates minor updates. The council recommended approval. The Department of Human Resources Management was requested to investigate the desirability of merging the Ag division and general university policies on outside employment.

Dr. Mixon presented for approval updated versions of Operating Policies 56.03, Jointly Occupied Buildings, Sharing and Handling of Major Expenses; 56.07, Safe Use, Handling, Storage, Transport and Disposal of Pesticides; 56.08, Promotion in Rank and Title of County Extension Agents; and 70.1, Sponsored Programs. The council recommended approval.

Dr. Mixon recommended that Operating Policy 56.05, Conducting External Reviews, Policy and Procedure, be rescinded as no longer needed. The council recommended that the policy be rescinded.

Ms. Bell and Ms. Johnston presented for review a revised version of Human Resource Management Operating Policy 60-201, Leave/Leave Without Pay Policy and Procedure. After discussion, the revised policy was tabled for further review.
