Executive Council met at 11 a.m. in 611 Allen Hall.

Dr. Rabideau presented for consideration a proposed modification of the university vision and mission statements. The current MSU vision and mission statements, along with proposed modifications suggested by the president, were presented to the entire campus community in October 2006, and comments were received from faculty, staff, and students until December 2006. Based on the comments received during fall 2006 and incorporating suggestions by the university community, the following vision and mission statements were proposed for recommendation to the Board of Trustees. Vision: The vision of Mississippi State University is to be the most respected land-grant institution in the region. Mission: The mission of Mississippi State University is to educate the workforce and leaders of the future, produce robust research for our state and nation, and provide expert services to our citizens, communities and businesses. The council recommended approval. The statements will be submitted to the Board of Trustees for approval.

Proposed 2007-08 School Year Student Cost of Attendance Budgets were presented for approval. The budget for a full-time, undergraduate, Mississippi resident, on-campus student is estimated to be $16,037, including tuition and fees, books and supplies, room and board, and personal and transportation expenses. A revised version of Student Affairs Operating Policy 91.307, Policies for Traffic Rules and Regulations for the Campus and Streets of Mississippi State University, was presented for approval.
