Executive Council met at 11 a.m. in 611 Allen Hall. Present were Dr. Peter Rabideau, presiding, Mike McGrevey, Dr. Jimmy Abraham, Mike Harris, Dr. Bill Kibler, Larry Templeton, Dr. Bob Wolverton, Dr. Melissa Mixon, J.R. Love, Charles Guest, Joe Farris, Julie Fulgham, Dr. Jerry Gilbert and Dr. Mary Alexander.

Dr. Kibler presented for approval new Student Affairs Operating Policy 91.352 on Required Accommodations in Programs, Activities and Special Events on Campus. The policy provides guidelines for complying with the Americans with Disabilities Act. The policy notes that funding special accommodations is the responsibility of the department sponsoring an activity or providing a service. The council recommended approval. Mr. McGrevey presented for approval new Human Resources Management Policy 62-122, Pre-Employment Criminal Background Screens, Security Sensitive Positions. The policy established procedures for conducting background checks of candidates for security sensitive positions. The listing of positions to be designated "security sensitive" will developed later. Hiring departments would be responsible for the cost of background screenings. The Council recommended approval.

Mr. McGrevey presented for approval a new operating policy on Speaker Fees and Honoraria, OP 1.24. The policy limits speaking fees to $2,000, plus expenses, unless a waiver is obtained from the President's Chief of Staff. The council recommended approval.

Mr. McGrevey presented for approval a new Information Security Policy, OP 01.10, designed to protect critical information in all forms. The policy establishes a security framework including an Information Security Program, an Incident Response Plan, an IT Disaster Recovery Plan, and a Committee for the Security of Protected Information. The council recommended approval.

Dr. Wolverton reported that the Faculty Senate was conducting a poll on the advisability of hosting Thursday night football games on campus, and had expressed the need for a protocol to manage such events.

Mr. Love noted that Student Association officer elections would be held on February 20.
