Executive Council met at 11 a.m. at 611 Allen Hall. Present were Dr. Peter Rabideau, presiding, Mike Harris, Dr. Bob Wolverton, Dr. Dennis Prescott, Mike McGrevey, Dr. Vance Watson, Larry Templeton, Dr. Sandra Harpole, Dr. Bill Kibler, Joe Farris, Julie Fulgham, Don Zant, and Charles Guest.

Dr. Kibler recommended that the following Student Affairs Operating Procedures be rescinded: OP 91.114, Short-Term Care of Psychotic Students; OP 91.122, Suicide Intervention; OP 91.312, Crisis Intervention. The council recommended that the operating policies be rescinded. The policy components of each are encompassed by a proposed new policy, OP 91.312, Critical Incident Response.

Dr. Kibler recommended approval of OP 91.312 Critical Incident Response, which provides the policy basis for the more detail procedures of the university's Critical Response Team. The council recommended approval. The revised policy is on line at http://www.msstate.edu/dept/audit/91312.html .

Dr. Kibler recommended approval of a revised version of OP 91.210, Food Handling On Campus by Registered Student Organizations. The policy provides for student organizations serving food to have representatives take and pass an on-line food handling test. The council recommended approval. Dr. Kibler recommended approval of a revised version of OP 91.301, Use of Tobacco on Campus. The revised policy is more restrictive than the current version, prohibiting the designation of private offices as smoking areas and requiring that smoking areas be located away from building entrances.
