Executive Council met at 11 a.m. at 611 Allen Hall. Present were Dr. Peter Rabideau, presiding, Dr. William Kibler, Julie Berry, Dr. Mark Goodman, Dr. Vance Watson, Adam Telle, Dr. Colin Scanes, Charles Guest, Joe Farris, Dr. Melvin Ray, Dr. Gary Pike, and Dr. Joe McGilberry.

Dr. McGilberry presented an update on university efforts in outreach and engagement. Goals are to build greater acceptance of the philosophy of engagement, define engagement, and improve the organizational structure to facilitate engagement.

Dr. Kibler recommended that Student Affairs Operating Policy 91.10, University Response to Death of an Employee, and OP 91.201, Student Travel, be rescinded. The council recommended approval.

Dr. Rabideau recommended approval of a revised version of Academic Operating Policy 12.15, Academic Probation for Undergraduate Students. The revised policy establishes that students whose MSU cumulative GPA is less than 2.0 at the end of any term will enter the next term on academic probation and will remain on probation until the GPA reaches 2.0 or higher. The council recommended approval.

Dr. Rabideau recommended approval of a revised version of Operating Policy and Procedure 01.15, Wireless Communications Devices and Plans. The revised policy provides for employees with an official university business need for a wireless device to obtain, with vice presidential approval, an allowance to offset the cost of a personally-owned device or be issued a university-provided wireless device. The council recommended approval.
