Executive Council met at 11 a.m. with Dr. Malcolm Portera presiding. Also present were Dr. David Cole, Dr. Robert Cooper, Ms. Susan Everett, Dr. Bob Altenkirch, Dr. Roy Ruby, Dennis Prescott, Mike Rackley, Gaddis Hunt, Charles Guest, Joe Farris, Dr. Roy Ikenberry, Ms. Jenny Reeves, Dr. Wayne Bennett, Dr. Bill Fox, George Parsons, Cameron Mann, Tom Tollison, and Ron Hartley.

Dr. Bennett recommended approval of plans to add a mansard-style roof to McCain Hall as part of the planned $6.25 million renovation. The council recommended approval of the roof design.

Mr. Parsons and architect Tom Tollison of Johnson-McAdams presented design plans for the planned north entrance road from Highway 82 to the central campus. The council recommended approval of the design.

Mr. Parsons and architect Ron Hartley of Dale and Associates presented landscaping and parking plans for the planned Landscape Architecture building. The council recommended approval of the plans.

Mr. Hunt presented for initial review a proposed revision in the employee development section of Human Resources Management policies and procedures. The changes dealing with personal and professional development, literacy and basic education, and performance appraisal will be considered at a future meeting of Executive Council.

Dr. Portera welcomed Jenny Reeves, newly elected president of the Student Association, as a new council member.
