Executive Council met at 11 a.m. at 611 Allen Hall, with Dr. Malcolm Portera presiding. Also present were Dr. Robert Cooper, Matt Allen, Dr. Joe Thompson, Dr. Charles Lee, Ms. Leah Norman, Larry Templeton, Dennis Prescott, Ms. Susan Everett, Dr. George Rent, Dr. Jonathan Pote, Dr. Roy Ruby, Charles Guest, Joe Farris, Dr. Melvin Ray and George Parsons.

Mr. Parsons reported that the Campus Planning and Development Committee had recommended approval of the construction of a wooden pedestrian bridge over a low area near the Longest Student Health Center to improve patient access from the parking lot. The council recommended approval of the project.

Ms. Norman recommended approval of the vehicle purchase policy introduced at a previous meeting. The council recommended approval.

Dr. Portera noted that the Board of Trustees of Institutions of Higher Learning will meet on the MSU campus in February and the State Board for Community and Junior Colleges will meet on campus in January.
