Executive Council met at 11 a.m. at 611 Allen Hall. Present were Dr. Malcolm Portera, presiding, Matt Allen, Larry Templeton, Dr. Rodney Foil, Dr. Roy Ruby, Dennis Prescott, Dr. Euel Coats, Dr. Bob Altenkirch, Bill Broyles, Dr. David Cole, Ms. Leah Norman, Charles Guest, Joe Farris, and Dr. R.D. Ikenberry.

Dr. Foil presented for concept approval a plan for landscaping the greenhouse complex behind Dorman Hall. The council recommended approval of the recommendation, which was forwarded to the Campus Planning and Development Committee.

Dr. Ruby recommended approval of a proposed policy on Satisfactory Progress Standards for Student Financial Aid. The policy defines the academic progress standards for eligibility for federal financial aid in keeping with the provisions of Title IV. The council recommended approval.

Ms. Norman distributed for information the current construction progress report.

Dr. Portera requested final comments on the draft version of the statement of university priorities and goals for 2000-2004 to be presented later in the week for campus discussion.

Dr. Portera announced that an Administrative Council meeting has been scheduled to consider budget allocations for FY 2000.

Dr. Ruby and Dr. Cole reported that based on their recommendations the Office of Career Services and the Cooperative Education Program will be combined, effective April 15. Dr. Luther Epting will head the combined unit and will report to the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs.
