News from Mississippi State University | March 2024

March finds the Bulldog spirit soaring high! As the campus buzzes with activity, I'm thrilled to share a glimpse into some exciting developments and achievements that continue to propel Mississippi State forward.

First, let's celebrate our graduates, the lifeblood of our university. The annual First Destination Survey results are in, and they paint a picture of impressive success. Over 93% of our 2022-2023 graduates secured employment, pursued further education or embarked on meaningful endeavors within six months of graduation. Notably, over half choose to stay in Mississippi, contributing their talents and skills to our state's growth. This high retention rate speaks volumes about the value and relevance of an MSU education.

Speaking of growth, we're excited to announce the launch of a Master of Science in Nursing program at MSU-Meridian! This innovative 12-month program, the first direct-entry MSN in Mississippi, provides a fast-track path for non-nursing graduates to become registered nurses. It addresses a critical need in our state's healthcare landscape, and we're grateful for the support of major hospitals and health systems in Meridian who helped bring this program to life.

The recent celebration of Mississippi State’s 146th birthday was another powerful reminder of our rich history, shared legacy, and unwavering commitment to excellence. It was a day of reflection, appreciation, and inspiration, reminding us of the enduring Bulldog spirit that has propelled us forward for over a century.

As spring blooms, we can't help but look toward the future. Spring Break is just around the corner, and with it comes the bittersweet realization that graduation isn't far behind. Soon, another class of Bulldogs will embark on their journeys, carrying the maroon and white spirit with them.

Before then, let's savor the remaining weeks of the semester, filled with academic pursuits, athletic triumphs, and the vibrant energy that defines our campus. Thank you for your loyalty and dedication to Mississippi State. You are the heart and soul of this institution, and I look forward to seeing you all on campus in the weeks ahead.
