Mississippi State University President Mark E. Keenum was honored as the 2014 Distinguished Citizen by the Yocona Area Council, Boy Scouts of America, on March 4 at the BancCorp South Conference Center in Tupelo. Prior honorees include former NFL quarterback Archie Manning, author John Grisham, broadcaster Jack Cristil and U.S. Sens. Thad Cochran and Roger Wicker. Event chairman Jack Reed Jr. of Tupelo announced that the 2014 event honoring Keenum was the largest in the history of the council.
