Mississippi State TRIO students enjoyed a visit and talk from MSU President Mark E. Keenum at a recent luncheon. Keenum praised the students for their achievements and encouraged them to continue their journey toward a college degree. Federally funded TRIO programs are designed to help disadvantaged students overcome environmental, social, cultural, and academic barriers to higher education. They provide information, counseling, academic instruction, tutoring, assistance in applying for financial aid, encouragement and support, tools that are essential to student success.
