Ginko Tree in front of the Union

Open Letter to MSU Family and Friends

August 15, 2017

In light of the senseless violence, overt acts of racism and bigotry, and other atrocities demonstrated by extremist groups in Charlottesville, Virginia in recent days, Mississippi State University unequivocally restates and reaffirms our core values of unity, mutual respect, tolerance, and diversity among our students, faculty and staff. These values are reflected in both MSU’s official policies and in our daily culture. MSU remains a safe and nurturing community for people of every race, religion, ethnicity and identity. Our university condemns and rejects the cowardly acts of hatred and violence witnessed in Charlottesville and stands united against such acts with our fellow Americans. Such behavior has no place on our campus, in our state, or in our society.

Sincerely,
